Chess, a psychological strategy game, played on a checkered board, is played with 64 squares arranged in an 8×8 square grid. Inspired by the African continent, contextual iconography is partnered with historical landmarks & gestures. The 16 pieces: 1 King, 1 Queen, 2 Rooks, 2 Knights, 2 Bishops, 8 Pawns and behold a unique essence.


The Achike Mozie chess table has been manufactured using the latest SLA 3D printing technology available to date. Substantially economical manufacturing is a great way to minimize on material waste and effectively cut the carbon footprint of our bespoke interactive sculpture. Bio friendly resins partnered with rare, raw pigmented factors in the environmentally friendly journey of creation. The whole table including the chess pieces takes around 300 hours to 3D print using roughly 15 kilos of 3D printing matter for each table we make.

The core structure of the table is CNC machined out of the cultured reclaimed wood. This Crucial factor ensure the whole piece holds the weight of the playing surface and structure without a glitch. This core
profile is locked into the 3D printed sections and legs through perfect geometric proportion.

Once it’s all assembled, the final paint work is a blend of automotive paints & minerals to ensure it’s longevity, acrylic pigment is applied to enhance the weathered tonalities to nurture the uniques authenticities.
